Several initiatives in China's textile and garment industry in 2023 include the opening of special freight trains to transport cotton yarn from Xinjiang to various textile centers in China. The first train will run in February 2023, carrying cotton yarn from Xinjiang to Foshan. The train shortened the transit time from 12 days to 8 days.

Textile and apparel exports returned to positive growth for the first time in March 2023, and the growth rate exceeded expectations. In the same month, Fuchun Dyeing and Weaving announced an investment of 700 million yuan to build an annual output of 110,000 tons of yarn dyeing project.

On April 26, a batch of red yarn produced by anhydrous dyeing technology marked the official launch of anhydrous dyeing of reactive dyes developed by Esquel Group in cooperation with Eweil Environment.

In July 2023, the construction of Guangdong Shantou International Textile City began, with a planned total investment of 30.5 billion yuan. In August 2023, Guangdong and Xinjiang officially signed a cooperation agreement on building a comprehensive partnership of cotton textile industry. In September 2023, the textile and garment industry is the pillar industry of Guanxian County in Shandong Province, and Guanxian County in Shandong Province won the title of "China's famous cotton Textile City". At present, there are 350 textile factories, of which 26 are above the scale, more than 1.8 million spindle, and the annual clothing production capacity is 12 million pieces. Domestically produced products are sold all over the country, and exported to Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and other more than 40 countries and regions.

In November 2023, it is planned to establish the National Quality inspection and testing Center for cotton and cotton yarn products in Alar.
