On December 12, the RCEP textile industry chain cooperation Matchmaking meeting, one of the supporting activities of the sixth China-Japan-South Korea Business Conference, was held in Keqiao, aiming to further connect the upstream and downstream of the textile industry, strengthen the RCEP large market, and add momentum for the high-quality development of foreign trade in Keqiao.

The reporter learned from the District Commerce Bureau that this is the first RCEP textile industry chain cooperation matchmaking meeting held in Keqiao, with the theme of "unimpeded links to promote prosperity". At the event site in the morning, representatives of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Jujing Special Economic Zone in Cambodia took turns to speak, representatives of the Zhejiang International Digital Trade Association and the cross-border platform Shopee shared industry views, and Keqiao enterprises in the export RCEP market such as "Golden Idea Textile" and "First Wei Textile" made on-site promotion.

"I hope to have further discussions with the representatives of the Jujing Special Economic Zone in Cambodia after the meeting." The representative of Zhejiang Kaihai Knitwear Co., LTD., a veteran clothing enterprise in Keqiao, mentioned that in recent years, the company has a good momentum in the Malaysian market, and plans to find a better production base globally to further improve the industrial chain. In addition, a number of textile enterprises such as "Lishen Import and Export" and "Chaoling Import and Export" have expressed their strong intention to further develop the RCEP market.

Relying on the textile industry, Keqiao has always been a strong foreign trade area, with a foreign trade dependence of about 70%, and nearly 80% of export products are textiles. It is reported that Keqiao and RCEP member states have a matching industrial structure and close economic exchanges. Especially since 2022, the market of RCEP member states has become the largest exporter of Keqiao textile trade. In 2022, Keqiao's exports to RCEP member states were 30.12 billion yuan, an increase of 33.5%, and the export weight reached 22.5%. From January to October 2023, Keqiao has exported 24.559 billion yuan to RCEP member states, an increase of 8.3%, which highlights the huge industrial links and economic and trade potential between Keqiao and RCEP countries.
